This is the data collected by ARCOS as part of its Integrated Landscape Assessment and Monitoring (ILAM) programme. The dataset covers all biodiversity records collected in Bugesera Landscape in Year 2017

Les données de cette ressource données d'échantillonnage ont été publiées sous forme d'une Archive Darwin Core (Darwin Core Archive ou DwC-A), le format standard pour partager des données de biodiversité en tant qu'ensemble d'un ou plusieurs tableurs de données. This data was collected as part of the Integrated Landscape Assessment and Monitoring (ILAM)programme. The compilation and publication of the dataset was done in the framework of the African Biodiversity Challenge (ABC) initiative.

| Description du design | The Integrated Landscape Assessment and Monitoring (ILAM) model is designed to reflect the State-Pressure-Response Framework (OECD, 1999) which is a popular model in biodiversity and ecosystem services assessment, monitoring and reporting (Kristensen 2004). The Pressure-State-Response framework is based on causality: human activities impose pressures on the environment and change the quality and quantity of natural resources (state). Likewise, society also responds to these changes through environmental, economic and sector policies (responses). In that regard, a set of 25 indicators have been identified to cover biodiversity, ecosystem services, and socio-economic aspects in the landscape. For biodiversity, key taxa that are looked at include birds, odonata (dragonflies and damselflies) and butterflies. Plants are also sampled along the transects. |
