This data was generated from a project ARCOS in the partnership with the Kitabi College of Conservation and Environment Management (KCCEM), the Endangered Wildlife Trust (EWT) and the International Crane Foundation (ICF) with funding support from the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. The project aimed at, among others, assessing the status of the Grey Crowned Crane in Rugezi Wetland (a highland wetland in North_Western Rwanda) as well as propose and pilot solutions to address threats affecting this species.

Data Records

This project was implemented by the Global Crane Foundation-Endangered Wildlife Trust (GCF-EWT)Trust jointly with ARCOS and the Kitabi College of Conservationa and Environmental Management (KCCEM). Its objective was to reduce pressure (encroachment and overharvesting of plants) on the Rugezi Marsh by promoting alternative livelihood options and to assess the status of the Grey Crowned Crane species in the marsh.
